However the Badgers responded quickly, scoring on a Jack Coan QB sneak from the 1-year line. Badges lead 21-7.

The Buckeyes pulled out a trick play in their opening drive of the second quarter, calling a fake punt to give the Buckeyes a first down.

The abrupt momentum allowed the Buckeyes to advance into the red zone, but a turnover ended their scoring threat.

The Badgers rode a stout defense and one big drive on offense to jump out to a 7-0 first-quarter lead in the Big 10 Championship game.

The Badgers stopped the Buckeyes two first-quarter drives that included fourth-down plays on both.

The Badgers, on the other hand, converted a fourth down on their opening second quarter drive which kept the Badgers alive.
